I love street photography. At five feet two inches, the view through my viewfinder isn’t from a lofty height. But it is my view and because of that, it is unique.
I suppose it’s not all that unusual to walk around taking pictures. I do it all the time. Boy do I love getting shots of cool stuff on the street.
On a recent trip to New York City, I landed early in the day had an event to attend that was later in the afternoon. I hours to walk around and shoot. Acting like the tourist i was, I shot everything I could – up and down.
Some of my shots from New York include a straight on photograph of these New Year’s Eve confetti to be dropped with the ball at the start of 2013.
New Year’s Eve wishes for 2013

Building details.
Hello Kitty gawking at the spectacle.
The guys in the bakery where I stopped for breakfast.
Details of my lunch.
And one of my favorites EVER:
This was in Hollywood last summer. We were walking out of the wax museum at the Walk of Fame and I spied these costume characters taking a break.
Street shooting can show you things that you wouldn’t ordinarily see from the car. You may not get the absolutely best composition, but you get the shot. Next time you’re in a city or small town try walking around with your camera. You might just get a shot of a pretend Michael Jackson having a smoke with the court jester and Wonder Woman.
I’d love to see some of your street photography. What is the most bizarre? The most beautiful? Your favorite?
